Terry L. Poling, M.D., D.A.B.F.M., F.A.A.F.P., C.P.I.
Dr. Terry Poling is a co-founder of Heartland Research Associates. He started practicing medicine after graduating from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1962. He is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Poling has over 25 years of experience in clinical research participating in over 1,235 studies as PI and/or Sub-I in nearly all areas of clinical research. Dr. Poling is an AMA delegate for Kansas, acts as Chairman and Medical Director for the Wichita Preferred Provider Association, and is a Past-President for the Kansas Medical Society. Additionally, Dr. Poling is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Thomas Klein M.D., F.A.A.F.P., C.P.I.
Dr. Klein is a co-founder of Heartland Research Associates, serves as Medical Director of Heartland Diabetes Associates and is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He is board certified in Family Medicine and is actively practicing medicine. He has been lecturer and a co-author of articles in clinical and scientific journals. Dr. Klein has over 25 years of experience in clinical research participating in over 1,235 studies as PI and / or Sub-I in nearly all areas of clinical research. Additionally, he has worked for greater than 10 years toward the development of third world medicine.

Dr. Klein is a co-founder of Heartland Research Associates and is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He is past President of the Kansas Medical Society. Additional he is past President of the Mid Kansas Physicians Association and is a board member. Dr. Klein has over 25 years of experience in clinical research participating in over 1,235 studies as PI and / or Sub-I in nearly all areas of clinical research. He is board certified in Family Practice and actively practices Family Medicine.
Tracy Klein M.D., D.A.B.F.M., C.P.I.
Dr. Klein joined HRA in 2001 after completing a residency in Family Practice. Since that time, he has been practicing Family Medicine, is board certified, and has enjoyed teaching medical students, NP’s and PA’s as a function of being an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Dr. Klein has actively participated in 655 studies and has served as a PI and Sub I across a broad spectrum of indications. He has been published as a co-author in clinical and scientific journals.
Heartland Research Associates
Heartland Research Associates was started in 1991 and encompasses five sites, four medical directors, and over 60 employees. HRA has performed more than 1,235 clinical trials. Heartland Research became a member of AMR in 2000. HRA has the ability to perform procedurally difficult trials and can successfully recruit special populations. Major indication of specialties include: vaccines, NIDDM and osteoarthritis.
